Protect biodiversity within the University campuses.

Purpose

This policy aims to operate sustainably to minimise the impact of its activities on the environment. Part of this commitment includes protecting and enhancing the biodiversity on campus.

Definitions

Biodiversity includes plants, animals, birds, insects and land.

Scope/Application

The scope of this policy includes;

  1. Awareness
  2. Education and Outreach
  3. Research and innovation
  4. All operational activities

 Policy Statement and Principles

  1. Identify and reduce all direct impact on campus biodiversity.
  2. Include endemic trees species in landscaping schemes.
  3. Promote responsible practices among the university community towards the biodiversity on Campus.
  4. Support biodiversity research
  5. Initiate community conservation outreach.
