In November 2018, the University of Bahrain signed an agreement with UNDP to enhance joint and collaborative activities for gender equality and promoting innovation with common target of raising awareness and promoting the achievement of SDGs in Bahrain. UNDP supports the university in the validation and joint launching of the 12 GEPMI gender empowerment modules. UNDP also provides support to jointly develop and help deliver courses on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the SDGs, to be offered at the Graduate level at the university and at an introductory level for foundation level students. Moreover, UNDP supports the university in offering training programs for female students in addition to providing support for the establishment of new computer labs for “Forsati for Her” program that trained 3000 female students in ICT Skills. Furthermore, UNDP supports the university in establishing an Innovation Lab to foster Innovation and provide entrepreneurship support services, from design to implementation.
