Recent precautionary tests conducted by the University of Bahrain showed that no UoB member of staff has tested positive for Coronavirus Covid-19. The tests took place in coordination with the Public Health Department at the Ministry of Health, and the National Taskforce for Combating Coronavirus (Covid-19).

UoB Health Center chose a random list of 100 staff and faculty members for the precautionary test. All sample members were tested on Monday, 18 May, 2020, at Bahrain International Exhibition Center.

Previously, UoB had conducted another precautionary test that included 151 building and maintenance workers, UoB Health Center staff and Security staff.

Precautionary test are planned to resume after the Eid Al-Fitr public holiday. In this regard, UoB has taken a number of precautionary measures to combat the spread of the Coronavirus, including e-Learning, and sanitization of educational, service and administrative facilities in all three campuses in Sakhir, Isa Town and the Health Science College at Salmaniya Medical Complex.

These precautionary measures have been taken in accordance with the preventive preparations that are taking place currently in the Kingdom of Bahrain for the well-being of UoB staff members.
