The University of Bahrain is located over three campuses where the main campus is located in Sakhir and the other 2 are located in Isa town and in Salmania area in Manama. The provided Satellite images by the Bahrain Science Space Agency shown that the total planted area in the three campuses area cover approximately 77 Acers. The University of Bahrain has planted and maintained this sizable area to preserve land and to combat desertification. In addition, the university use treated sewage effluents water for irrigation to ensure sustainability and reduce water stress. The planted areas contain over 50 different types of plants and trees that makes the place in some areas as natural habitat.
Furthermore, the Sakhir campus is surrounded by a fence of Conocarpus trees and it’s also decorates the university entrance. Also variety of desert plants are scattered adding a value of flora biodiversity and increase the green areas and enriched the natural habitat of the campus especially the western area of the campus
