Scope/Application
The policy will be applied to:
- All students and staff at the university
- All university on-campus and off-campus activities
- All university catering outlets, retail outlets and vending machines.
Policy Statement and Principles
- Implement an effective management strategy to reduce plastic bags consumption and waste.
- Promote alternate for single-use plastic bags, for example, biodegradable single-use plastic bags, recycled material, paper or fabrics.
- Support innovative recycling opportunities for plastic waste.
- Support community initiatives to remove plastic waste from the environment.
- The Policy, accountability and evaluation
- The University shall develop indicators and measures of success in the implementation of this policy.
- A committee formed by the president shall provide an annual report to the university council on the process toward the established indicators and measure of the Plastic Policy.
