Sheikha Lamyaa bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, Head of Al Noor Welfare Charity expressed her thanks and appreciation to the University of Bahrain for the support provided during and after the registration of the first batch of ten students sponsored by the Charity to study at the University. The students selected are regarded as the pride of the Charity.

 

Sheikha Lamyaa commended the cooperation and participation of the University under the auspices of Professor Riyadh Yousif Hamzah.

 

The University of Bahrain has accepted ten residents of the Al Noor Welfare Charity, to study their desired majors in accordance with their high school GPA. The Student Affairs Deanship at the University gave the students particular attention in terms of assisting their registration process at the induction day for new university students. Moreover, Head of the Orphans Sponsorship Committee at the Charity, Rehab Hamzah, commended the crucial role played by the University in facilitating the students’ wellbeing, and providing them with personal computers.

 

The attention given to this batch of graduates is a source of pride for the Charity, whose members are highly appreciative of the level of cooperation that has been accomplished.

 

Al Noor Welfare Charity was founded in 1997 to provide financial and material aid to orphans, widows, restore sub-standard housing and provide aid to the sick and financially insolvent. In addition, the Charity promotes the teaching of the Quran and the sciences. Further, the Charity endeavors to develop social services in cooperation with other official and private social as well as educational institutions.

 

In its role of providing welfare, the Charity acts as a bridge between needy citizens and other competent parties concerned with providing assistance.
