To spread water security awareness among community especially school kids
The University of Bahrain has established the first year of water activity with the collaboration of ministry of labor and social development. This revealed the direct input of UoB in national strategy to tackle SDG 6. This is to participate in raising the awareness of the importance of water and the need of responsible water consumption. Series of events are planned to be established by the 2020. Youth event has already held at the Sherifa Al-Awadi Club with the attendance of around 100 school students. It aimed to raise the awareness of the water security in among community. It also promotes the role of society in achieving lower water consumption levels in Bahrain. In the academic level, the University of Bahrain is hosting a regional water conference (http://femrc2019.uob.edu.bh/) to share knowledge and research experiences between scientist and stakeholders in the MENA region. This is done as a part of Future Earth program established by the MENA regional Center.
