Since 2013 the University of Bahrain, College of Engineering and Eskan Bank have been working together in the search for alternative solutions for sustainable and affordable housing in Bahrain.
Young architecture students have had, since, the opportunity of experiencing the contemporary challenges faced by the country in the residential sector as well as deal with the architectural conditions of professional practice.
The Department of Architecture and Interior Design considers this partnership of utmost importance in the development of our youth, from students to competent architecture professionals able to understand and respond to the needs of the market and the profession. The University aspires to educate the future generation of architects that will continue to build this country.
From housing masterplans, to affordable housing prototypes, the students have been challenged to rethink the way Bahrainis live, supporting Eskan Bank in the development of a better housing condition and consequently a happier and satisfied nation.
