The University of Bahrain built the Bahrain Centre for Historical Studies on a brownfield and is planning to build two new building on underutilized car parking areas. The new buildings which will house the Deanship of Students’ Affairs and a new general academic building are designed according to the highest national environmentally responsive standards and guidelines. The university aims to successfully reuse its existing brownfield sites to maintain virgin land untouched. UoB is committed to its local, regional and international agreements in regards to the preservation of the natural environment.
The project successfully reuses brownfield sites at the university and maintains virgin land untouched and also preserves the local environment by introducing new spaces that are rich in greenery and are minimal in pollutants and harmful environmental effects.
