To introduce materials and technology to students and create research platform with industry and other universities
The Department of Chemistry at the University of Bahrain has organized a 2 days symposium on “Materials Science Theory and Applications, which was attended by 200 participant from the academia and the industrial fields in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Professor Sherif Hussein Kandil, a professor of materials science at Alexandria University (Egypt) was the main speaker of this symposium as he provided several lectures that shared knowledge and experiences between researchers in UoB as well as other stakeholder in the kingdom of Bahrain.
During the first day of the symposium, participants discussed the properties and treatment of materials, while on the second day, the participants discussed studies of sustainable materials and applications of nano materials.
To increase the awareness about material and fire, Prof. Kandil provided scientific analysis of the progress of fire science and fire techniques and prevention. He explained how early humans used and controlled fire and how it was later used in the industry.
