With a major contribution of Shanghai University’s scientists and the United Nation office in the Kingdom of Bahrain, a forum was organized by the Confucius Institute at the University of Bahrain which aims to introduce the Chinese culture and to induce scientific collaboration. The forum was open to public. This free and open event discusses the parties collaborative efforts to solve serious global issues such as energy efficiency and climate change.

The forum discussed latest research approaches that investigate clean and alternative energy solutions. This includes the efficient use of materials in energy production, removal of toxins, hydrogen fuel cells, free CO2 energy generation and organic batteries. Sharing of such experiences from scientist from both universities creates a starting point for innovation and stronger research collaboration. Such collaborative event would encourage scientific research that tackle SDGs related to water, energy and climate change.
