Spread awareness about women rights law regarding family violence

The Supreme Council for Women, in cooperation with the University of Bahrain, organized a seminar on protection from family violence, which dealt with the Law on Protection from Family Violence of 2015, and the most important provisions of the Child Law and Family Law of 2017 related to the Law on Protection from Family Violence.

The symposium also addressed the national strategy to protect women from family violence, which is an extension of the axis of “family stability” in the national plan for the advancement of Bahraini women with a vision based on preserving the family’s security for a stable society in which Bahraini women enjoy all their rights in a way that enhances their health and psychological integrity within the framework of family bonding And, it is guaranteed to play its role in social and economic development in an effective and competitive manner.

During the symposium in which students from the Faculty of Law and the various faculties of the university participated, Dr. Muhammad Walid Al-Masri, Legal Adviser to the Supreme Council for Women and Assistant Law Professor at the College of Law at the University of Bahrain, stressed that the legal system for protection from family violence and its prevention would reduce the cost to the state, represented by In providing protection and rehabilitation services, in addition to the psychological and moral costs borne by a family experiencing violent conditions, and stressed that family stability is the basis for the advancement of women, but for all family members.

Review the most important measures stipulated by law to prevent and protect against domestic violence, reporting mechanisms and penalties, and indicate national efforts that contributed to strengthening the principle of prevention through the national strategy to protect women from family violence, and the launch of the “unified framework” program for family counseling and awareness services, in partnership with institutions The governmental and private sector and civil society related, which aims to unify and develop services and enhance concepts supporting increased family cohesion and stability
