Improve school performance through improving leadership within schools.

The Leadership Center was established with the collaborative vision of the FDPM office, the MoE, the BQA, and the BTC. With a concentration on school quality transformation, the BTC and the MoE will jointly impact school quality, school-based professional development, and applied research for school improvement. The Center proposed regional center of research and practice excellence, the key mission of which, building on best practice in Bahrain and internationally, is to ensure that formal school leaders and ambitious aspiring leaders are given the support necessary to improve the quality of their schools. School quality is a function of leadership, and good leadership is carefully cultivated through academic learning, practical mentorship, collaborative dialogue, and encouraging support. Such activities, as well as thoughtful research on the impact of specific activities, should feed back into the curriculum of the BTC so that all future leaders are properly equipped.
