On September the 16th 2018, The Good Word Association in cooperation with the Arab Volunteering Federation and Dr. Sama’a Al Hashimi organized the “Digital Gratitude” campaign. The campaign’s aim was to enable the elderly in developing their technological skills through workshops given by students in the BA Art & Design program, supervised by Dr. Sama Al Hashimi. The students were encouraged to teach and develop the technological skills and various interactive design skills of 216 elderly individuals taking place in various care homes including: the Muharraq Parent Care Center (in Busaiteen), the Yoko House Parent Care Center (in Al Hidd), Dar Sitra, Umm Al Hasam House and the Buri Parent Care Center. This has contributed towards the consolidation of family ties and minimized the technology gap between generations. Throughout this campaign, Dr. Sama’a Al Hashimi received a certificate of appreciation for her supervision of the Digital Gratitude project in the Sheikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa Award.
