The university participated in the week of Hawar Islands. These islands are RAMSAR site of international importance. They also nationally designated as protected areas. The university provided studies that can contribute to the conservation of the land and marine ecosystems of these islands. This include measure to identify and protect vulnerable species through the IUCN Red List criteria.
