Pointing the importance of blood donation in saving lives
In Blood Donation Campaign event, UOB encourages staff and student for the blood donation to point out the importance of the donation in saving lives.
The aim of the campaign is to encourage students to donate blood because of the health effects it has on people, and the humanitarian returns for patients in need of a drop of blood that might save their lives and restore hope for them, as well as provide a service to the community.
Students of the University of Bahrain and its affiliates donated more than 65 blood bags to the Central Blood Bank in Salmaniya Complex. The campaign has received great response and humanitarian response to support patients in need of blood in particular patients with hemoglobinopathies (Sickle Cell Disease, Thalassemia) and cancer. More than 120 students, academics and administrators participated in the campaign.
