The conference aims to showcase how communications and Information technologies can enrich a sustainable future on various areas such as agricultural, educational, environmental, health monitoring, etc. The conference has a special session on sustainability and show how, broadly, various types of communication networks can be used to support a more sustainable life on Earth.

The 2019 Annual IEEE Middle East & North Africa COMMunications (MENACOMM 2019) Conference, is an annual international conference that is sponsored by IEEE Communications Society and this year it was organized by IEEE Communications Society Bahrain Chapter and the college of Engineering, University of Bahrain (UoB) in cooperation with IEEE Saudi Arabia ComSoc Chapter, with a steering committee consortium of IEEE ComSoc chapters from MENA Region and academic partners such as the ICT–Federation of Arab Engineers and various international renown universities.

MENACOMM 2019 conference objective was to bring together the researchers, developers and practitioners interested in the advances of modern telecommunication systems, networks and emerging ICT technologies to present the latest research results. The Conference focused on various aspects of 5G communications and networks. The conference included a peer-reviewed program of technical sessions, special sessions and exhibition. MENACOMM 2019 was held on 19-21 November 2019 with approximately 300 attendees from 30 different countries.
