– To introduce students to the importance of working with the local authorities in ensuring affordable housing while also protecting the cultural heritage

A lecture titled “Heritage and Community in Historic Cairo” conducted by Saif Aldeen Rushdi, an architectural historian and specialist in reviving urban heritage on Sunday, 17 November 2019, at 7pm at the Arab Regional Centre for World Heritage. The lecture was conducted in Arabic with about 120 attendees including students, academics and members from the Ministry of Culture and the Arab Regional Center for World Heritage. The lecture was a platform for academics, students and local authorities to discuss matters in regard to the planning of heritage and culture in historic cities.
