The competition aims, in its first edition, to encourage university students to employ creativity and thought, by finding ways to enhance the traffic safety culture and achieving the goals of the General Traffic Department. The competition focuses on reducing accidents, raising traffic awareness, and the smooth flow of traffic in Bahrain.

Major General Sheikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa reviewed the projects prepared by four student societies and four clubs to participate in the competition. The competition is an extension of the Traffic Scientific Forum, which is held at the University of Bahrain annually, containing four aspects: scientific traffic research, the educational media campaign, legal amendment, and engineering solutions. Students research a specific traffic issue that addresses one particular problem or more. Students then develop an idea to promote the concepts of sustainable traffic law and sustainable commuting.
