University of Bahrain has contributed in a chapter in the Arab Forum for Environment and Development (AFED) annual report. The AFED is a not-for-profit regional non-governmental organization that aims to spread environmental awareness through promoting sensible information and education programmers, as well as supporting civil society organizations active in the environmental sector. The published chapter affiliated by the University of Bahrain discusses the current situation of the environmental and sustainability education in the Arab world universities. The chapter discusses examples of Arab universities that have educational programs related to environmental sustainability as well as Arab universities that achieved high scores in Times Higher Education impact ranking. The chapter aims to gather the experiences of Arab universities in environmental sustainability education and to encourage other universities in Arab world to contribute in environmental sustainability by academic programs, higher education and research.
