The university has awarded a grant for a joint research project entitled “Creating Sustainable Supply Chains using Information and Communication Technologies.” This four-year project will have a joint team of research, namely, Dr. Mazen Ali, UOB; Prof. Sherah Kurnia, University of Melbourne; Dr. Ramayah Thurasamy, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and Dr. Craig Parker, Deakin University, Australia and Prof. Robers Davison City University of Hong Kong.

This project, being at the intersection of three important areas (ICT, innovation, and sustainability) is addressing an under-researched area that is of significant importance to organizations and economies. The data will be collected from cases from three different countries, which are Bahrain, Australia, and Malaysia. The knowledge obtained from rich empirical evidence of how sustainability innovations/solutions are identified and adopted in various countries will be significant for many countries. It will help promote wider adoption of business and supply chain practices that enhance the economic, social, and environmental performance simultaneously.
