The University of Bahrain has one of the most generous offerings of fees subsidies in the region, reaching $600 million in the form of fees subsidized for the years 2016- 2020. This comes as a royal decree to make education affordable to all. Around 90% of fees are subsidized by The Kingdom of Bahrain for all Bahraini students and up to 80% is also generously offered to international students. Enabling students that have financial difficulties to continue their studies. Students who benefited were around 4000 (approximately 25%) and were exempted by the University of Bahrain based on criteria such as financial hardships.
