The centre contributes to the WHO’s sustainable and strategic goals and objectives in supporting and enriching the nursing and midwifery education and healthcare service in the country and the region.
In 2019, the center contributed to delivering several activities targeting the public midwifery workforce with the objective of upskilling the midwifery workforce in the region in collaboration with WHO and support WHO in scaling up the capacities of primary care midwives. To be more specific, this activity aimed to enhance midwives’ practices in primary health care settings (antenatal settings) consistent with the WHO actions to achieve the SDGs and universal health coverage.
