The UoB STP has been designed and constructed since 1995 with an average daily flow of 504 m3/day to treat the domestic wastewater from the Sakheer campus and nearby villages. The employed treatment process is the biological, extended aeration activated sludge system. The treated final effluent is mixed in a reservoir for re-using it for landscaping and irrigation.
