The first virtual regional symposium on Physics advances was arranged by the Department of Physics in the college of science at the University of Bahrain on the 28 and 29th of June. More than 130 professors and students attended this symposium where 44 research work have been presented.  The opening of the symposium included a speech of his Excellency Prof. Riyad Hamzah the president of University of Bahrain where he emphasized the importance of research collaboration between the universities in the region. He also mentioned that this symposium will create a platform for thought-leaders, academics, and researchers to share their ideas and views on common research interests, to think more seriously about collaborative research, and to explore various available funding opportunities within the region and beyond. He continued that the University of Bahrain is keen on using its existing capabilities and strategic positioning in the region to promote research through its international network of collaborations, which includes its partnering with distinguished universities and research centers like CERN, University of Oxford, Aston University, and Loughborough University.
